WIGSTOCK 1993 AT TOMPKINS SQUARE PARK -REPOST-

This edition of the Wigstock Annual Party at Tompkins Park is probably the craziest one I can remember ! Tompkins Square Park had already been "cleaned up" but the whole neighborhood was still wild and cool. At the time, this is where you wanted to be in Manhattan!

  1. WIGSTOCK was the event of each Labor Day weekend in the East Village. Another absolutely amazing street party where participants and performers were one, now gone forever. Face it, NYC today is only a shadow of what it was during the 80's and 90's when creativity flowed freely through the masses who inhabited downtown from Christopher street to Chelsea and through Alphabet City... Geez what the F-*k happened! Where's everyone gone? Does LA VIE BOHEME even exist nowadays?

    1. I agree--NYC today is tired and played and rich.

La Vie has left NYC....for Buffalo.

  3. NYC is dead because all these out of town fuckers come to the city to live and than start bringing their boring ass shit here. Real new Yorkers are still here, but they consider us rude, hostile aggressive and arrogant...not what these aholes in these areas want. They want the history and the reputation without actually doing shit.
